Halladay's Hex Fly

Also called Hex Fly (Halladay)

Unverified origin Single Deschaine column; the dressing itself was reconstructed by eye from a displayed sample and may be inaccurate.

History

This Halladay dry was presumably tied for the Hex hatch. It has a moose-hair tail, a tan wool body, grizzly hackle-tip wings set spent in a delta shape and one brown and one grizzly hackle.

Halladay's family passed on no tying details for it. Tom Deschaine worked out the dressing by studying an original through a glass display case in poor light and cautioned that his recipe may not be exact.
