Michigan Hopper

Also called Joe's Hopper

Solid origin Winnie as originator agrees across sources. The date and the original dressing are not confirmed.

History

Art Winnie tied this as the Michigan Hopper. Joe Brooks later made it famous as Joe's Hopper and wrote that it was first tied by a Michigan barber. It is one of the earliest flies made to imitate a land insect.

Materials

The original dressing is still being researched.
