Skunk Hopper

Unverified origin Only the Michigan Dry Flies archive card supports the tyer, place and date; no independent source was found. Potter contributed the card.

History

Dennis Potter of Grand Rapids designed the Skunk Hopper around 2005, taking the shape of the old Au Sable Skunk and turning it into an impressionistic hopper.

It is a demanding tie that depends on good elk hair. Potter changes body color and size to match the local hoppers.
