modern Michigan dry fly · early 1990s
Spent Poly Winged Caddis
Unverified origin Only Deschaine's card; the originator is unknown and the Michigan claim rests on his own observation.
History
No one knows who designed this small spent caddis. Tom Deschaine counted it as a Michigan fly because it had been fished here since about the early 1990s, was sold in some Michigan shops, and he had not seen it anywhere else.
He tied it in about six colors and used it from May to October whenever small adult insects were on the water.
