History
This Michigan spinner pattern dates from the mid-to-late 1970s, and its tyer is not known. The Hex (Hexagenia limbata) is the largest mayfly on Michigan trout streams, and it hatches mostly after dark from late June into early July.
It is built for the spinner fall, with a split moose tail, flat hen-hackle wings and a yellowish tan body on a large size 4 hook.
