Regan's Hex
Unverified origin Regan's background is confirmed by the Michigan Fly Fishing Club and Fly Tyer, but only the archive card describes this fly. No date is given.
History
Jerry Regan, a third-generation tyer who grew up on the Au Sable near Grayling, ties this deer-hair Hex spinner with a parachute hackle and spent dun hen wings. He recommends it for the Hex hatch on the South Branch of the Au Sable.
Regan learned from Grayling tyers including Earl Madsen and Ernie Borcher and has tied for local shops for decades; he is best known for his spinner patterns.
