Yellow Stone
Also called Koernke's Yellow Stone
Unverified origin Only the Michigan Dry Flies archive card supports the tyer, place and date; no independent source was found. The recipe is a reconstruction.
History
Bill Koernke tied this little yellow stonefly at Bill's Fly Shop near Grayling in the 1980s and 1990s. The body mixes pale yellow and olive rabbit under a flat turkey wing.
As with his Michigan Caddis II, Tom Deschaine rebuilt the recipe by examining an original fly under a microscope, since Koernke's family did not respond to his questions.
